What is creative coaching?

Good question. I’m essentially a life coach for creative people. Coaching focuses on where you are now and what you want and need moving forward. I don’t tell you what you “should” do nor do I diagnose you. However, creativity and meaning are emotional subjects that bring up a lot of stuff and the process does require a certain amount of vulnerability. We go deep in our conversations so you can get clarity on what matters and make conscious choices about how you want to live. I ask questions, offer guidance, and check in on the goals and intentions you set for yourself. When difficult emotions come up, I provide a supportive space free of judgment to feel and process those emotions with mindfulness and ease.

Do I have to be an artist to work with you?

I have a wide range of clients and they would not all call themselves artists (even if I might). My clients are people who are creative. This includes artists of all kinds, people with creative careers, and those who have creative passions. I work with leaders, teachers, caregivers, and more. There are many ways to define creativity.

I will say that my clients are ready and willing to commit to the coaching process and to make changes in their lives. The coaching process takes time and energy so the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.

What are the benefits of Creative Coaching with you?

As your coach, I meet you where you are and I appreciate and celebrate that everyone is unique. Because of this, I do not offer a one-size-fits-all approach. Depending on what you need, coaching with me can help you:

  • Connect to a deeper sense of meaning through your unique, authentic creativity so you can do your good work

  • Clarify what matters most to you and why

  • Develop tools and strategies to deal with “blocks” and feel energized to create new and exciting possibilities

  • Receive loving accountability for the goals or intentions you set for yourself

  • Manage your energy so you can use less of it on busyness and more on what matters

  • Foster your courage, confidence, and self-respect while understanding and embracing your unique strengths

  • Manage stress and anxiety by learning powerful mindfulness and self-care techniques

  • Have support from an empathetic fellow creative human

  • Develop healthy tools for handling criticism and rejection (both external and internal)

We’ll talk more about you, your journey, and where your current challenges lie. We’ll assess if it’s a good fit. There is NO pressure to continue coaching after this session. These conversations are powerful and I value them as much as you do, whether it’s our first of many or the only one we’ll have.

Ongoing sessions
(one on one)

A huge benefit of coaching is consistency and accountability. For most clients, I recommend committing to the coaching process for at least three months starting with weekly (1 hr) sessions. I also work on a bi-weekly basis when preferred. The best way to find out what works for you is to have a conversation so we can assess your needs and the possibilities together.

Group workshops

In addition to one-on-one coaching, I also offer workshops and group work. Perhaps you would like to book a workshop for your company, your friends, or your community. In-person and virtual options are available. Reach out to discuss the possibilities!
